Sarehole Mill, Middle Earth and the Sisters

Just up the road (Stratford Road natch) is Sarehole Mill from which JRR Tolkien took inspiration for his writing. It was Middle Earth.

The Sisters used to play here, not contemporaneously as he had moved to Edgbaston in 1900. They played, flirted and courted here.
