(Emily) Hilda, Ivy (Hilda) and Frederick Harry…
On holiday. A short break to Abersoch, North Wales to the retirement cottage home of Hazel’s mother in law (husband Tim’s mother). The elegantly proportioned lady on the right. Hazel must have been ferreting in her archives and found these photos from the 1970’s I think.

Don’t ask what my Mother (Ivy) is up to sat on Hilda’s lap. Of such antics was life like around her, always having fun. Practical fun too as Hilda’s profound deafness made her feel left out of conversations or relationships, so to include her by involvement and jollity (what a lovely word) must have been a tonic.

My Dad, (Her)bert is also larking about by the look of it. I’m guessing that Frederick Harry is behind the camera.

I have a similar photo somewhere, with that fence I’m sure. Cue to have a dig around myself…
